Blizzard Diablo III To Be Playable on PS3 and XBox360

Blizzard Diablo III To Be Playable on PS3 and XBox360

Alright. It seems that quite a few comments from my last post (Did Blizzard get Hit by Their Own Banstick?) told me that folks are extremely gung ho about Blizzard not getting hacked. Maybe so, maybe no. Did it happen or did it not? All I do know for sure is they are still having issues as of today...@BlizzardCS just tweeted about problems with the "name change". Still bugs...Blizzard seems that they just keep "hacking" away at them. Pun Intended...

Anyways, heres another conspiracy theory, let the flames begin:

Gamasutra. Kinda like a Monster or CareerBuilder for the gaming industry. Well Blizz recently posted a position for a "Senior Software Engineer Console Network". Hear that? CONSOLE NETWORK.

Now this is cut and paste from the site:

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic software engineer to be a key contributor on the Diablo team. This position is responsible for ensuring the best implementation of sophisticated networking systems on consoles.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain networking related game systems for the console game.
Identify previously unknown issues and offer solutions.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years game coding experience
A minimum of 1 shipped multi-platform AAA title (Xbox 360 and PS3) as a network engineer
Familiar with implementing client / server architecture
In-depth knowledge of PSN and Xbox Live
Networking experience in TCP and UDP protocols
Fluent in C / C++
Able to work in a collaborative team environment
Passion for playing console games

Did you see what I saw? "a key contributor on the Diablo team" or under requirements "A minimum of 1 shipped multi-platform AAA title (Xbox 360 and PS3) as a network engineer"?

Interesting, huh? Check it out yourself: Gamasutra- Senior Software Engineer Console Network.

*Now I am not always right, I am not always wrong on my posts. I dont have a crystal ball (although my Mists of Pandaria post might make you believe I do). What I do try to accomplish is give you the most accurate information out there, and give my theory on what its all about. This is one of these posts.

Alto.

Bodhi Linux 1 1 0 Ubuntu and Enlightenment based Promising Linux distribution

Bodhi Linux 1 1 0 Ubuntu and Enlightenment based Promising Linux distribution Bodhi Linux is a relatively new GNU/Linux distribution being developed by Jeff Hoogland. I had read couple of reviews of Bodhi Linux earlier, but comment from the maintainer of Bodhi Linux in the review of MacPup 520 Linux ( you can read this review here ) , made me take notice of Bodhi Linux, and I decided to give Bodhi Linux a try. Bodhi Linux 1.1.0 is a distribution based on popular GNU/Linux distribution Ubuntu, Bodhi is a Sanskrit word which to some extent means enlightenment, it is widely used in Buddhism and thus the name itself for Bodhi Linux is positive. Bodhi Linux is based on Enlightenment Window Manager, I am huge fan of Enlightenment, I recently reviewed MacPup 520 and I was very impressed with what I saw, thus I had huge expectations from Bodhi Linux. The test environment was very modest, I have a close to four year old Core 2 Laptop with 1.5Ghz processor, which runs VirtualBox, I tested Bodhi ...

Book Review Practical Data Analysis by Hector Cuesta

Image
Book Review Practical Data Analysis by Hector Cuesta I have been reading this book since last week, and now I want to share my thoughts about it. I was excited to review this because Ive never heard most of the tools it features, like OpenRefine, MongoDB, and MapReduce. The book has 360 pages and surprisingly it covers a lot of topics. Along with that, is the Github repository for all the codes.  Practical Data Analysis is all about applications of statistical methodologies on computer science. I find it very useful since this was not taught in my statistics class. In college, we only practice statistics on fields like sociology, psychology, agriculture, economics, chemistry, biology, industrial engineering, and many others, but we were not onto computer science, we only deal with it when coding in R or SAS. Hal Varian once said in this video that, . . . weve got at least hundred statisticians on Google . . . And I was curious about that, I mean, what are they doing on Google? What...

Bodhi Linux 3 0 0 Release Candidate 1

Image
Bodhi Linux 3 0 0 Release Candidate 1 At Bodhi we work firmly on a "its ready when its ready schedule" as opposed to sticking to our set release goals and churning out something we are not happy with. Better late than never as the saying goes! Just ten days after the targeted release date I am happy to share our first Release Candidate for Bodhi Linuxs third major release: As you can see from the image our default theme has matured some (it is nearly complete in fact). For a full change log you can see my running TODO list as we work towards our 3.0.0 stable release here. Download Links 32bit  - ISO Image, MD5sum Legacy  - ISO Image, MD5sum 64bit  - ISO Image, MD5sum Chromebook  - ISO Image, MD5sum Legacy Hardware Support The most important new thing in this release is the addition of an ISO image that supports legacy hardware. The legacy ISO image features a 3.2 kernel that will work on 486 machines (or newer), including non-PAE hardwar...
