Blender Foundations 5th Open Movie Gooseberry Teaser Trailer Video


Blender is perhaps open sources biggest poster child for years now. And in every year or two, Blender foundation showcases the products 3D graphics capabilities by releasing animated movies created exclusively using Blender software. They are called "open movies" and youre free to download and reuse the movies the way you want, standing true to its open source credentials. We have featured each and every Blender "open" movie ever released here and here. Now its time for the fifth one codenamed "Gooseberry", and unlike its predecessors, the projects goal would be to produce a feature length animated film.

On January 10, 2011, Blender creator Ton Roosendaal announced that the fifth open movie project would be codenamed "Gooseberry" and that its goal would be to produce a feature length animated film. Heres a teaser video on what its going to look like.



Stupendous effort dont you think? Im really excited to see what its going to look like eventually. Remember, Project Gooseberry is going to be a full length animated movie unlike the others. Heres that caterpillar shot once again.

Book Review Practical Data Analysis by Hector Cuesta I have been reading this book since last week, and now I want to share my thoughts about it. I was excited to review this because Ive never heard most of the tools it features, like OpenRefine, MongoDB, and MapReduce. The book has 360 pages and surprisingly it covers a lot of topics. Along with that, is the Github repository for all the codes.  Practical Data Analysis is all about applications of statistical methodologies on computer science. I find it very useful since this was not taught in my statistics class. In college, we only practice statistics on fields like sociology, psychology, agriculture, economics, chemistry, biology, industrial engineering, and many others, but we were not onto computer science, we only deal with it when coding in R or SAS.
